PETERSEN STUDIO is currently leading the landscape architectural design of three mixed-use podium/tower projects in downtown Oakland. These urban infill projects represent over 1000 residential units across the price spectrum, mitigating the Bay Area’s housing shortage, while encouraging high-density sustainable urban living. These projects collectively integrate 3 acres of roof terrace, roof garden, and green roof landscapes that will enrich the lives of residents, support local ecologies, reduce stormwater runoff, and minimize heat loading. 80,000 square feet of ground-level retail, enhanced streetscapes, pocket parks, and plazas will encourage pedestrian activation throughout the downtown core.
